About Jenna
I have always been artistic. I took art classes in middle school, high school and even a handful in college. I spent some time working as a Trader Joe’s sign artist and have taught preschool and really enjoyed coming up with fun crafts and projects. But my current iteration of creativity can be directly linked to me becoming a mother.
I had my son in 2015. I was home a lot. I was physically, mentally and emotionally drained. I spent most of my time wandering the neighborhood with my son in the stroller or home… doing all of the baby stuff. It was lovely… but all of my “free time” was spent at home because that was my kiddo’s nap time. I made an impressive dent on finishing Netflix and really needed to find something to do with myself.
I signed up for a watercolor class that was within walking distance of my home and came back three hours later completely hooked.
I’ve been painting and dabbling in ALL SORTS of other creative pursuits ever since. I joke that I had my daughter in 2021 because my son was growing out of naps and I needed to maintain my “brand”. Whether the kids are napping or not, I try to create something daily. More recently I’ve finally given in to my desire to use EVERY color and stop trying for cohesion in my work and social media channels. The thing that I hope unites everything is the FUN being had whilst creating.
Thank you for being here.
